"Oh that old thing? It's an American classic, this one being special in particular." He pulled the rifle away from her slowly. "80% Crafted steel, 20% heart." He said, smiling. "I've taken out my fair share of the undead with this, you can imagine what my homemade shells will do to the poor bastards!" He handed it back to her. "Enough of that for the moment, we have to come up with a plan..." He looked around and grabbed a map, located underneath some old books. "I heard a transmission come in the other day from an emergency AM station. You can imagine that the person is dead now, but scavenging is something we have to do to survive. The coordinates are..." He looked closely at the corner of his map. "Well... a few blocks down." He said, ignoring the numbers. "You never know what you could find until you look, and we need a building to hold out in anyway. I don't think that we can stand in a tent, and your house is out of the equation now that it's tainted with so much blood." He hands her a bottle of a green colored liquid. "This will get the scent off of you, so I would wipe yourself down with it. I'll wait outside." He stood, taking off his jacket and instead putting on a new one with more pockets. I hope there is still someone alive. If they had survived this long, it's not an impossible thought.(Alright, here is what is going to happen. Brittany can start her characters thought after Angelic posts. This will add a new layer, and eventually overlap.)

Emma stared at the bottle for a long time. She shook it and watched it bubble. 'What is this stuff?' She thought. Emma opened the bottle and began pouring some of the liquid down her arm and rubbing it in her hands and on her face.
One whiff of it and she was already grimacing. "Yuck! What is this stuff?!" She asked, not really wanting an answer. Emma continued to rub the liquid over her body no matter how bad it smelled. 'Anything to keep the zombies away..'
"You can come back in now Cloud. It's safe. I got rid of the cooties." She giggled. "Your turn." She said handing the bottle over to Cloud.

"I'd rather not decay myself in filth." He looked back at the bottle "But... you have to do what you have to do." He rubbed it through his cloths, throwing the older cloths outside. "We'll sleep here for the night... but keep guard. I don't have much room here, so I hope you fancy close encounters with the opposite sex."

"As long as you don't try anything, we'll be fine." Emma said looking him in the eyes. "Do you want me to keep guard first?" She asked opening the tent just a little.

"I don't see the point in making you stay up. We don't have to post guard at all actually. I just meant to be on guard in case something does happen. We're heading out early morning, so it's best to go while the undead regenerate for the next day. You could say that they sleep in their own way." Cloud addressed her, smiling.
"Just get some sleep if you're paranoid. I'll take over the guarding." He stood with his M16 at hand.

"You sure? I think you're the one who needs to sleep. After all, you're the one who knows how to stay alive." She laughed.

"Staying alive is nothing too crazy to lose a few hours of sleep over. Knowing how to survive should actually lead to me staying awake, you know?" He pushed he slightly to the bed. "Besides, wouldn't want your beauty to fade over one night of rest."

"Beauty sleep? Ha!" She snorted. "Don't stay up too long and wake me if anything happens, okay?" She lied down, peering up at him from under the covers. "Goodnight.." She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

He sighed at her words, never hearing such a thing before.

Emma rubbed her eyes and tried to open them but the light that was peering into the tent was too bright. She gave up and kept her eyes closed. "Cloooouuudddd..." She groaned.
